The Satrix Hive is a Discord-based community!
Everything is held on the Discord: events, giveaways, raffles, etc etc... We are stationed here because I, the owner, am most active on there and can upkeep it easier! Unfortunately at this time, we don't have any other platforms.

General Rules
1) Under absolutely ZERO circumstances will we allow ANY 18+ art, comments, fanfics, etc etc.. of Satrixes to be made regardless of how humanoid they can appear.
2) Theft of any kind will not be tolerated.3) Due to the generally gorey/medicinal/body horror-ish nature of the species, you must be 13+ to own a Satrix.4) Please do not beg for MYOs or characters, as this can make people incredibly uncomfortable and I'd MUCH prefer to keep Satrixes a drama-free species!Under any circumstance, we do not accept:
1) Anti-LGBTQ+
2) Racists
3) MAPs/pedos/groomers
4) Zoophiles
5) Ableists
And anything similar. Really, all we ask is that you're a good, respectful person!

Species Rules
1) Satrixes are a shapeshifting alien and liquid-based species, meaning the entire concept is built around them being form-adopting amoebas that survive on liquids. Please do not steal this concept. I don't mind some mild inspiration (and in fact, I'd love to hear about it!) but completely stealing the idea is rude and downright unoriginal.
2) They are a semi-open species, however EVERYTHING requires masterlisting!3) They may be anthro or feral!

In-Depth Lore
In the early days of Satrixes, they were all essentially a loose cluster of nomadic amoebas exploring the vast depths of space. The amoebas needed nothing- not food, air, water, or even a solid form- to survive. That is until they started figuring out the art of merging, how much more they could do as one being instead of a bunch of small ones, and slowly grew into larger organisms.
These larger organisms were formless, erratic, and incredibly unstable with their newly formed consciousness; They were a pain to sustain; They needed sustenance to survive, their bodies were clunky and difficult to manage, and their communities were rapidly shrinking- or growing into something dangerous and undesirable- due to their insatiable appetites. This need for control and preservation furthered their wandering.Somewhere along their travels, Satrixes got pulled into Earth’s atmosphere, and the entire community crashed into Whiskeyseed Thicket. Naturally, they had 0 idea how to navigate their environment or thrive in it… So, they ate practically everything in sight: Leaves, sticks, carcasses, rocks, water, small trees, everything. They quickly found out that their bodies could not retain most solids, as they wouldn’t break down in their system; There were a few exceptions, however, such as mushy leaves or frail, tender meat.
Over time, to better their chances, they began adopting the shape of surrounding creatures and mimicking their behavior; Of course, these bodies were far from perfect, but they gave the Satrixes the stable form they needed, which increased the populations' stability immensely. Unfortunately (for us), despite their societal sturdiness, the Satrixes eventually had to begin migrating due to their ever-dwindling resources.
Now, Satrixes have successfully invaded human society, living in underground connections- called Hives- and stealing our resources. Damn Satrixes.TL;DR
Lore: Satrixes were blobs that floated around space, and started to gain forms; the forms were too unstable and required maintenance. They land on Earth in Whiskeyseed Thicket, ate everything in sight, quickly found out they can only retain liquids, and ended up migrating too close to humans.
Life Cycle: Nurses' tail explodes into neonates, neonates find coterie, then an unclassed Satrix is born. Unclassed Satrix gets classed by Commander, end of story.Classes: From lowest to highest: Scout (Infiltrators/Gatherers), Drones (Researcher), Tanks (Defense/Offense), Wardens, Nurses/Medics (Caregiver/Physician/Surgeon), Commander; Can progress through the classes in a specific order.

Life Cycle
Directly after a Nurse/Medic splits, in the first moments of a Satrixes's life, they are small, translucent blobs with little cognitive function; their one and sole purpose as a neonate is to find a suitable coterie. Once in a coterie, the Unclassed Satrix will be judged by a Commander and assigned a class. The newly Classed Satrix will then go on to find a group where they can solidify their body and hone their skills. Any neonate that cannot find a proper coterie will return to the Nurses/Medics' tail and wait to be reborn.
Basic Anatomy
Earthean-inspired body
Fluid container (In torso)
Tubes (On the back)
Feeding Tubes (Located on the head)
Working Classes+Subclasses (OPEN)
Scouts: Scouts are the lowest class and the thieves of Satrixes; They do all the dirty work, stealing fluids from the sources to restock the Hives supply. They are typically smaller, the most Earthean-like, and work in large mobs.
⤷ Infiltrators: Infiltrators are the first on the scene when a Drone successfully identifies an open source.
⤷ Gatherers: Gatherers are the Satrixes that follow after the Infiltrators. These are the ones that collect the resources from the source and bring it back to the hive.
Drones: Drones are the managers. They look for the next source to raid and oversee the raids. They are lankier than most Satrixes, and tend to work in smaller mobs.
⤷ Researcher: Researchers are Drones that specifically go out, survey, and research other areas outside of the hive in the event of an immediate relocation.
Tanks: Tanks are the highest class of the working Satrixes. Tanks defend the Hive and act as back-up in the event of a failed raid. They work in small mobs.
⤷ Defense: Defensives are Tanks that protect the mob through non-violent means when a potential threat is detected. This typically includes distractions such as knocking furniture and equipment over, repositioning and mimicking sounds, and other various methods.
⤷ Offense: Offensives are Tanks meant to maim- but not necessarily kill- when the mob is in immediate danger.
Supervision Classes+Subclasses(CLOSED)
Wardens: Wardens are the watchdogs. They work in larger mobs to protect the Nurses, supervise the lower classes, and send reports to the Commanders.
Nurses/Medics: Nurses and Medics both take on parental and medicinal roles; Nurses are responsible for reproduction, and Medics are responsible for repairing Satrixes. Both are assigned to small mobs.
⤷ Caregiver: Caregivers are essentially babysitters.
⤷⤷ Physician: Physicians specialize in repairing damaged Satrixes.
⤷⤷ Surgeons: Surgeons' expertise lies in immediately restoring or replacing feeding tubes, containers, or missing limbs.
Commanders: Commanders are the boss of the Hive; They command the lower classes, assign roles, and oversee all lower-class processes.

Guroharpy for helping me develop the species, and for inspiring me to make it in the first place!

Masterlist system
As stated previously, ALL Satrixes need to be masterlisted.
The trait system functions off alterations to the inspiration, or the being the Satrix took form of!
For example, if you base a Satrix off a goat (Mammilia Inspiration), your Satrix would retain all features of a goat without further trait upgrades; no need to mark Horns under Head Traits, since goats already have horns! The same applies to creatures without written traits, such as a vampire squid fin.
HOWEVER, If you were to make a snake (Reptilia Inspiration) and give them horns, THEN you would mark the change, as snakes do not have horns.
